BLACK FRIDAY...No Sweat, Jamberry Nails has the Answer!

So the big family dinner is already put away, the house is somewhat back to some livable state, and you're already gleaning the Black Friday ads while your significant other is in the turkey coma infront of the televsion set where the game was on DVR. Do you have a mom, sister, aunt, grandma, or hard to buy for friend that you are willing to step into a mall or super box mart like a gladiator ready to do battle!

This might have worked for the 300, but ladies and gents when it comes to Black Friday Sales, here is a great basic plan.

1.First off, Jamberry Nails Wraps, Lacquers, and Gel enamels make GREAT stocking stuffers as well as gifts.
2. Jamberry Nails also has Stylebox-which is a monthly subscription where the lucky lady will get a stylized exclusive box of goodies for 3 or 6 months depending on which subscription works for you.

3. When going to the stores, get all the ads and make lists. Items at stores that ad match can save time and money. Go a day before and ask the office or manager for a print out of where Black Friday items will be. Most stores and box marts will have these. Just smile and insist. Be sure to get there early and expect to wait and brave the elements.

If they refuse to give you one-some might do this and if their items or offers cannot be matched anywhere else-then go the day before or even a few days before and familiarize yourself with the store and where you would most likely find these items. For instance-if you are looking for that 55 inch flat screen that's going to be $75-then you will want to head directly to the electronics since electronics are going to be the HOT sellers of ANY Black Friday sale.

4. Jamberry Nails has three styles of Holiday Gift Sets that gives the gift recipient 2 EXCLUSIVE wraps, 1 bottle of Jamberry's exquisite long lasting lacquer, and as a bonus-in "Winter Wishes" and "All Is Bright", those sets come with a specially formulated holiday scented Nourish hand cream for satiny hands. Put a bow on it and you're done!

This doesn't have to be you this year...

Order your gifts for mom, grandma, aunties, nieces, daughters, and your friends at Jamberry.

Let's Talk Make-Up and Jamberry Nails: It's All About Contour and Tru Shine

It's fall and it's all about the contour! There are endless amounts of Instagram, Pintrest, and Youtube tutorials on the art of contouring and the products that everyone from the random teen to the everyday housewife to make-up professionals are doing and using.

What is contouring? Well to put it simply, it is the art of shading to enhance and define facial features; building up layers upon layers. Good contouring not only erases age but it also blurs imperfections and highlights areas that one wants to stand out. Here are my picks for GREAT contours as voted on by the masses.

        1. Tarte's Park Ave Princess Contour Palette Vol.II is a favorite with Vloggers such as Bunny Myers, Kandee Johnson, and Carly Bybel with its skin flattering shades and peachy pink hue. Tarte's Amazonian clay pigments mean longer lasting, better quality, and overall great performance on most skin types.
        2. Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette is six shades of contour and highlight that is going to blend seamlessly. There are shades here that are going to compliment just about every complexion with bronzers for that summery glow.
         3. Nyx's Highlight and Contour Pro Palette found at stores like Target give 8 different shades and highlights for a professional look for half the cost. These shades give one enough to play with to achieve the desired effect they are wanting to achieve easily.
            4. MAC Cosmetics is the front runner when it comes to some of the most tried, tested, and approved make-up that is vlogged, blogged, and preferred by make-up artists and celebrities. The MAC Contour Kits are made from the highest quality ingredients and are all prepared for every complexion. Not only is contouring a breeze but their palettes also offer coverage to correct blemishes and other minor imperfections.

You can purchase any of these kits through

In September of 2015, Jamberry Nails released the Tru Shine Gel Nail System. The Tru Shine System comes with everything one needs to do a professional grade gel manicure in the comfort of one's home. The Tru Shine Gel Enamel is different than what one might find in the store or at the salon-it's made with raw ingredients instead of harmful chemicals. The Tru Shine Gel manicures will not only last longer than salon gels but can be used with any of Jamberry's clear wraps with ease.

Weekend Beauty Magic: Repairing A Broken Nail With A Tea Bag

Broken nails were never an issue B4J (before Jamberry) because I didn't have any nails. I had nubs dreaming of one day being stubs. Now that I have nails, I literally want to cry because I have nails now and I hate it when they break.

One great tip I found for repairing those nails was on a tutorial on You Tube. I was a bit skeptical about it at first but now that I know what to do-I'll never go back to tips, acrylics, or anything like that again. So follow these steps and you too will have a great looking nails.

            Things You Will Need:

1 ordinary tea bag (don't use your best tea, okay)

1 pair of small scissors preferably manicure scissors (they are really inexpensive but regular scissors will work too.)

1 glass file (they sell these at beauty supply stores or you can use a fine grain buffer block)

1 bottle of clear polish *Jamberry Strengthening Coat works great at strengthening your nail without all the harsh and damaging properties that regular polish may have.

Clean and dry nails *Jamberry Nail Cleanser is great at removing oils and residue off nails*

              To Start:
Start by cleaning your nails-be careful around the part of the nail that is broken.  Next, open the tea bag and pour the tea out. Sorry but you won't be needing it for this. You simply want the bag. Take your scissors and cut a piece only big enough to cover the part of the nail that is broken.  Apply clear to entire nail and then apply your tea bag patch. Now you can cover your entire nail *as shown below*  but you will have to do just a bit of extra buffing and filing.

Next when it is dry, take your glass file or buffer block and gently buff or file down any rough edges and smooth out the nail. If you are doing this over acrylic nails, go very easy so that you don't ruin your manicure. Those get costly. Once you have it filed or buffed down and it is somewhat smooth-apply another coat of the clear base. Let it dry completely. You should not see the tea bag patch and if you do it should be barely visible. Now the nail is ready to lacquer, gel, or wrap and the nail will hopefully fuse back in place.

#Because of Jamberry

#Because of Jamberry

I became a Jamberry Consultant because I really REALLY loved Jamberry. I had never seen or  heard of anything like Jamberry Nail Wraps before and of course, I didn't just jump right in-I had questions and even doubts. I've never been a sales person. Jamberry was NOT like Avon, House of Lloyd, Garden Party, Pure Romance, Home Interior, or even Tupperware. Those are all great companies by the way, but I never really had too much success with hosting or getting my friends and family to purchase anything or even purchase enough for hostess rewards. I would work my guts out making sure my house was spotless even with small kids running around, fixing finger foods to entice people to come, and doing everything that the consultants asked of me to do to ensure sales. It was frustrating beyond belief and when I was approached with being a Jamberry Consultant, I didn't want anyone to feel like I did-because of my budget that I was basically wasting my time trying to achieve some unattainable level of success. That's no fun for anyone but Jamberry makes it really easy!

For starters, most of Jamberry's products are affordable. One sheet is still under $20 in the US and Canada and just a few dollars more with sales from Australia and New Zealand. I also looked at how easy it is for not only myself to make money but for each hostess to have the potential of getting hostess rewards with ease. I also looked at how easy it would be to get women who wanted to feel empowered about making their own income to sign up and be part of my team. So it was a no brainer to invest and join the Jamberry Sisterhood.

Because of Jamberry, I don't take any time away from being a mother, wife, Ni Ni, my home, or the things I love doing. I still read books and I still write novels and novellas. I still do crafts when the opportunity comes up (right now I am making author SWAG and Jamberry SWAG for parties-just another reason to be a hostess with me). I don't stay huddled in my house nor do I beat down doors or spend money on gas I don't have driving all over town and the surrounding areas throwing catalogs and samples at people. I work from home at my own pace.  I get asked, "Well, how much money have you made?", now I would love to say that I bank roll the commission. I haven't quite reached that level yet but I'M ON MY WAY! I will say that since beginning in March 2015, I have made a little over $150. I have had 2 successful fundraisers in which a lot of money was raised for Relay For Life and most recently money for my grandchild who was diagnosed this past summer with bi-lateral hip dysplasia and had to have the first of two grueling major surgeries that requires her to have a SPICA chair which costs up to $250.

Because of Jamberry I feel as if I am growing as a human being. Does that sound silly? I have always been a very passive and shy person. Since becoming a Jamberry Consultant, I have been thrust out of my safe little comfort zone and had to challenge myself. I have met so many women who are like me, many who are the total opposite of me, and women who inspire me to really believe in myself and obtaining my goals. Every day women who for the most part are stay at home moms and moms who work full time jobs have supplemented not only their income but have had life changing experiences all because of Jamberry Nails. Recently I attended a Jamberry Summit and none-literally NONE of the women who were speakers because they were some of the top sellers in the company were over night successes. They shared their wisdom and there was not one drop of self serving at all in the crowded room. Women from all walks of life were there and had the same desire I had-to be successful, to improve their business, and because Jamberry is a company that really cares about every single one of us. How many companies do that? Most companies and industries treat their employees as a disposable work force; they're just numbers. Because of Jamberry-we're not disposable. We are not just numbers.

Because of Jamberry I want to offer you, dear readers, a chance to improve your financial situation. Because of Jamberry I want you to know you can do a job-belong to a company that recognizes you as an asset NOT disposable or a number. I want YOU to be part of my team!

I am not offering a sales pitch here. I'm offering a means to be more-to go further than you ever thought possible. Because of Jamberry, you can have extra money for your family, extra money to make that car payment, sports or fine arts lessons for the kids, to take that vacation that you've been dreaming about, to buy that outfit you've been dying for, and even money to help pay off those school expenses. Whatever the monetary need is-Jamberry can help! It's work-I won't lie to you-you get what you put into it but there's no gimmicks. There's no shady hidden costs or obligations. You won't be left alone nor do you have to feel as if  you're part of Stepford. Everyone who is a Jamberry Consultant is a Consultant because they choose to be one and have a passion for this new company. No one no matter how great the wraps look would invest if there was not opportunities to make money and to grow.

Because of Jamberry I want to give you a means to make your own money but most of all to join a Sisterhood of successful women. I want to empower you. I want to help you set and achieve goals. For everyone whether you live here in the states, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, that signs up with me before November 17, 2015, I will give you $25 towards the purchase of your kit when  you schedule to host a party with me and it reaches at least $250 in sales. If your party reaches $500 (I know it looks like a huge number but it really isn't) then I will give you $50 towards your kit. For my International ladies, I will make the appropriate conversions. Let's get those parties going and get you making your own money and have a business that is all your own. Don't be just a number!

The Truth About Tru Shine from Jamberry Nails

Just introduced from Jamberry: Tru Shine Gel Manicure System. Gel manicures for you, your family, and friends has never been easier or more affordable than with Jamberry Nails Tru Shine System.

So what is Tru Shine? Tru Shine is not a lacquer but a gel enamel that uses UV or LED light to cure into a long lasting manicure. Forget all those other products you can find either in beauty supply stores, big box marts, and salons. Tru Shine is made from high quality components and in variety of shades. The Tru Shine, like the lacquer can be used with all of Jamberry's clear wraps for layering. Not convinced yet? Let me break it down for you.

The difference between acrylic, polish, and gel manicures is this:

Acrylics: Faux nails that use an epoxy like glue; resin that adheres to your natural nail. You can choose between a full nail or just tips. Manicurists file, buff, and sometimes cut away the cuticle to apply these. Acrylics when done properly look beautiful BUT they often need fills (a build up of resin that is buffed to look like part of the acrylic nail that is applied as the nail grows), are pricey, and can cause nail fungus and infections. Unclean utensils can even cause staph infections.

Polish and Lacquer: These are the most traditional of manicures. You go in to a salon and a tech or manicurist usually cleans your existing nails and uses either polish or lacquer. Lacquer is thicker than polish but does not require curing nor does polish. These manicures usually last up to a few days before it begins chipping. Jamberry's lacquers are specially formulated to last longer and chip less.

Gel: Gel manicures are the latest trend in salons and spas next to Jamberry Wraps. They also give a more natural look than acrylics.Gel Manicures are layered with a special type of lacquer that has to be cured by UV light. These are also the most expensive type of manicures to get, but they do last longer than the above for mentioned with the exception of Jamberry Wraps, which can last up to a month. Gels usually don't chip but the wearer usually has to pay to get them removed, which can also sting the wallet.

                                         $The Cost$

The cost can vary but Acrylics can cost as low as $20 all the way up towards $65 and that is not counting nail art or fill ins.

However, Polish and Lacquer manicures/pedis usually doesn't exceed $30. Every few days to a week can add up though at a salon or spa.

Gel manicures are the most expensive usually starting at $45 and going all the way upwards to nearly $100 not counting nail art or special finishes.

No Girlfriend Hell For Me! Why I love Jamberry and You Should Too!

I promise I won't ever lie to you but Jamberry Nail Wraps and being a consultant has been one of the best things I have done in 2015! I literally love this company and its products better than a cat loves cream! True story, I promise. So why do I love Jamberry so much? Let me tell ya.

  1. Jamberry Nail Wraps are for EVERY NAIL LENGTH and budget. Seriously, I literally can fit any design or style on all of my short barely there nails. Jamberry has over 350 designs to choose from and even their Jamberry Juniors that can fit on any size nail and give that that high fashion salon look. They take less than 20 minutes to apply as opposed to the hours at a salon and they are chemical and cruelty free since they are made from a high grade vinyl material. Win! Win!
  2. Jamberry Nail Wrap Manicures and Pedis cost about $4 as opposed to the $20-60+ dollars that you get at a salon for nails that may or may not last a week. There are no chips, peels, risk of infection, damage to the nail bed and cuticles, and require NO fills. These are not stickers or appliques. They are wraps that are applied with gentle heat from either a hair blower or the Jamberry Mini Heater. If you still love your acrylic or gel nails-Jamberry Wraps fit right over them easily and will last just as long so cut your cost by saving that nail art for Jamberry.
  3. Being a Jamberry Independent Consultant not only gives me a group of great friends that are more like a sisterhood, but they actually pay me. That's right-sign up to be a consultant and you can earn money selling Jamberry to all your friends and family. Jamberry also rewards their consultants and their teams with incentives to grow their business and is there for every step of the way with their Jam U coaching and training. I love my Jam Mom and I literally thank God and every celestial being for putting her in my path because she is so supportive, helpful, and really loves all us Jam babies. Everyone at Jamberry wants their consultants to succeed. The company was started by 3 sisters who had a small idea that turned into a big company and right now you can get in on that. This isn't like any other direct sales company you've ever heard of or been apart of. This isn't some pyramid scheme. THE EARNINGS ARE REAL.
  4. The products Jamberry has are the best quality you can get. Their wraps are made from a high grade vinyl material that uses no other chemicals to give you that great look. When I invest money into any purchase I want it to give me the best quality and that is what Jamberry has. Their lacquer is stronger than a polish and it's thicker so it is going to give you a gel like manicure without having to spend money or go through all those harrowing steps to achieve one. Not to mention, the lacquer is going to chip less and is going to be less abrasive to your nail beds and cuticles. Jamberry also has their Nourish and Nail Care lines that give your nails that extra care and health.
I also love that Jamberry is a company that cares. I not only host online and in home parties but I also through Jamberry can host fundraisers for causes close to my heart and yours. Jamberry donates 10% of each sale to any charity, organization, schools, churches, etc. because they care. When I host a party or fundraiser I absolutely love that I get to help my hostesses achieve their hostess rewards and fundraiser goals. Just knowing that I am helping to make a difference really makes me want to do more with Jamberry Nails.

Summer Sunday Jamberry Combo Sensation

I have to say that I have become a Jamberry wrap addict. Before, I used to cry because I just either didn't have the money to get my nails done or I was tossing money away buying nail polish that would look great for a few days then start to peel and chip or would turn clumpy. Ever have that problem where you polish one hand perfect and then the other hand (usually the opposite hand you write and use the most) looks like a little kid painted it? That would be me. I would work and work to paint one hand perfectly while my right hand looked a mess not to mention I didn't have any nails so it just looked like a nubby nail job. I still have short nails (however they are no longer nubs dreaming of stubs), but with Jamberry wraps, I get pretty much an equally great manicure on BOTH hands and since Jamberry has so many different styles, I can have all the attention on the artwork instead of my nail length. I still get lots of compliments even when my wraps have been on for a month. They literally don't chip or peel and the artwork/designs don't fade. It's a Win! Win! Back in the day I would spend about $7 per bottle of polish, $1.59 on remover, and priceless amounts of aggravation and hours watching nail tutorials. Now, I might spend about $15-45 on Jamberry Wraps and I mix and match for a truly great look that lasts through household chores, kids, and every day life.

Today my pick for a great combo look is Shake Your Tail Feather and Jaded.

Shake A Tail Feather and Jaded is perfect for those end of summer parties and events as well as adding some glitz at the beach and pool. This combo is fun, sophisticated, and very trendy. Whether you are boardwalk fancy free or summertime Boho carefree, this is the look for you. Add a French Tip sheet and a sheet of Atlantis or Diamond Dust Sparkle for a really fantastic look on every nail.

Get your Shake A Tail Feather and Jaded Combo today! Buy 3 Get 1 Free! Don't forget to ask me how you can get some free Jamberry and great hostess rewards by hosting an online or in-home Jamberry Party!

Rain, Rain, Go Away Come Back Some Other Day!

Who is sick of the rain? I know I am. I am hoping that some of this rain heads out to all of you out there in California and those who haven't seen so much as a drop. My son is driving me crazy! I bet those of you with children are climbing the walls with wanting to go to the pool, playing outside, or something to do when all the Netflix cartoons, movies, and games have just ran their course.

For the many children at IU's Riley Children's Hospital, they are in a bed for the most part. Aside from the ones who are able to go to the play rooms and have their families to visit; Child Life is what keeps their spirits up! Child Life at Riley is a great organization that comes to children's rooms and delivers toys, games, art supplies, smiles, and events for children at Riley and their families. This organization is donor funded. Child Life first comes in and brings a blanket that will stay with that child throughout their stay and home. My son still has his orange one. The goal is to make the hospital experience as much like home as they can. They often ask parents or kids what they like to play with, what they like to do at home and school, and questions like that. Then they match items to that specific child as close as they can and bring them to the room. My son loved all the neat things they brought to him and many of them he got to bring home with him. Child Life also keeps the various play rooms within each unit stocked with fun things, books, and toys. Again, these are all made possible by donations.

The Ronald McDonald Houses of Riley are there for families. Both houses provide meals and places where parents and families can have some down time. The in house Ronald House provides sleeping rooms for naps, showers, meals, snacks, pop, coffee/tea, board games, magazines and books, and just quiet places without the sounds of machines and medical devices. The Ronald House that houses families who need a place to stay long term provides hotel like rooms, bathing facilities, toiletries, meals, snacks, laundry facilities, and a lot more. Neither of these houses could do anything without donors like you and me. Unless a McDonald's restaurant is specifically donating to Riley's Ronald Houses, your donation goes into a state or national pot where the donations are spread out. By purchasing wraps through my Riley Fundraiser, your donation goes straight to IU's Riley Children's Hospital's Child Life and Ronald Houses of Riley automatically through Jamberry.

How Can You Help!

1.) Start by purchasing a Buy 3 Get 1 Free Deal-any B3G1 Free deals purchased before 7/29 will receive an extra sheet of wraps FREE.

2.) Purchase a $25 E-Gift Certificate from Jamberry to get the Riley Fundraiser Wraps (Shown Below)

Simply redeem your E-Gift Certificate code with me and I will have your Riley Wraps sent to you. OR you can purchase the gift certificate and have them sent to one of the little girls at Riley and I will include a greeting card with your name.
3. Sponsor a B3G1 Free Junior Jams pack to a little girl and she will receive 4 wraps and a greeting card with your name on it plus I will send you a sheet free for your double donation.
Jamberry is a company that cares and they will donate 10% of all sales to IU Riley Children's Hospital's Child Life and Ronald McDonald Houses of Riley.
We are not even half way close to our goal of $400 in sales. Won't you help today?

Hostess Party Wednesday: Calling All School and Sunday School Teachers!

Calling all school teachers and Sunday school teachers...add to your teaching materials budgets by hosting a Jamberry Nails Party!

Getting budget money for your classrooms and even your Sunday school funds can be rough. Finding ways to make those dollars stretch for much needed supplies (I know you all have those students who show up with barely a pencil that first week), can be hard. Jamberry knows just how hard all teachers work whether you teach at a private, public, or the local Sunday school class. Every teacher I know not only uses their budget money but also throws in their own personal cash to be able to get learning materials for their kids. Those materials don't come cheap and many of the items are not "kid proof". Let me help you earn money quick and easy for your classroom by hosting an online or in-home party. It's very easy to do. First, choose whether you want to host an online Facebook party or an in-home. If you live outside of my area, I will find you a consultant that will work with you. Second, invite all your friends. Send out E-Mails and make phone calls. I will be glad to help you contact your guests. Parties usually last anywhere from a few days to a week.

That's it. Other than promoting the event on your Facebook page and reminding your friends to come, that is all you do. I do all the rest.

I will bring great exclusive deals for you and your guests, have fun games for everyone to play, and provide samples. Plus if your party tops out at $500, I'll donate 25% to your party if you schedule it anytime between July 1, 2015-August 10, 2015. Schedule yours today! Comment below or visit me

A Mother's Worst Nightmare and Quest to Give Back

One of the worst things a mother or father fears is something happening to their children. In March of 2014, my worst fear had it's grip on our lives.

The year started out with a blizzard. It was the worst winter since 1975 that we'd had here in our little corner of the world. Children were out of school, the roads were all snowed in, and the arctic blast cold was dangerous. My son, like most children, attends public school and passing around colds is just a give-in. Justin hadn't been overly sick, but he had gotten several colds and upper respiratory infections. We had all been casualties of it. In February, he'd gotten pneumonia but it hadn't been bad; he'd just coughed his brains out. We went through the usual round of antibiotics and he had been fine. When March come, he had a few sniffles and complained of his ears and his neck hurting. I thought he was meaning his throat hurt which isn't uncommon when you have a cold. I took him to a doctor (not his pediatrician since I couldn't get an appointment) and the doctor looked him over and said it was an ear-infection and some how he'd gotten a cold sore on his lip. "GREAT!", I had thought at the time, so here we go with another round of antibiotics. He slept a lot during the next day or so but was in good spirits and even played. He never ran a fever, but the day I sent him to school (because he seemed to perk up), I remembered getting him up and he was unbalanced, but I thought it was just because he was groggy. He seemed to be okay other than cranky. No sooner had I gotten home after dropping him off, I was called to come and get him because he had thrown up. Again, I thought it was just because of the mucus drainage and antibiotic. So I went to get him and he was feeling pretty bad. Still there was no fever but he had started crying. By the time we got him home, he was sleepy so I let him sleep. At four in the afternoon that day, his speech was slurred and he screamed in agony. I didn't know what to do. I tried Tylenol but he just would throw it up. My husband texted me, and I told him something was wrong. Something just wasn't right. Justin couldn't lay down without crying and wasn't moving right. I was having to carry him to the toilet and had to hold him up. Mike came straight home and we rushed him to the local hospital. My thoughts? He had strep? He had the flu? When we got him to the hospital, he still was crying out but couldn't speak. He would flay his arms and legs but that was it. He even had a moment where he laughed at his dad when it was time for an urine sample. That was the last laugh we'd hear. They X-Rayed him and CT Scanned him and they still were baffled. It was then we were told that Justin had to have a spinal tap. It was then that the ER doc called Riley Children's Hospital. My heart was beating so fast. Every horrible scenario was going through my mind, especially when the doctors were thinking he had meningitis.   Meningitis had been known to kill children his age. He was just nine years old and so small. When the team from Riley got there and looked at him, it was determined that Justin had to be life lined via a helicopter and we couldn't ride with him. Let me tell you that it was the longest car ride of my life. My baby was sick-BAD sick, and I had to leave him. Helpless doesn't even begin to describe what I felt. I think I cried most of the way there. I called my mother in law who lived thirty minutes from Riley and she along with her fella, Ron, got there to meet our little guy since Indy is about two hours away.

When we got there, we were shown to the PICU 6W. A hospital representative of that unit met us. We were told we would have to glove up, gown up, and even wear masks. I was shaking so bad and trying not to get hysterical. There laying on a bed hooked up to IV's and monitors was our boy-my baby. My heart stopped beating. I felt dizzy and I almost felt like I was going to faint but I made it through that initial shock. Justin was still breathing on his own so that was a big plus, but we didn't know how long that small grace would last. Justin was still screaming in agony every 27 minutes. They began running tests. There were so many doctors, nurses, and specialists that met with us. I won't go into what the first spinal tap was like. That's still a horrific nightmare that I hope to never go through again. He had to have two. He also had two MRI's. For six days we met with different specialists and met with his "team" every morning which consisted of Riley's very own Dr.Ackerman, whom we nicknamed "Dr.House". They never gave up on him. Meanwhile during these first six days we were given a room at the Ronald McDonald House across the street and was given access to the one within the hospital. The Ronald McDonald Houses of Riley give parents and families a place to rest, eat, shower, and find a break from the hospital like surroundings. Every night we went we saw different families who had children who were fighting something horrific like cancer, surgeries, procedures, and many other things. They were there from all over and when I say all over I mean there were families who came from other states as well as other parts of the world. Me and my husband, in some weird way felt a kinship with these people because our boy was fighting for his life too.

On the sixth evening, Justin opened his eyes. He still could not speak very well and just moving his hand or squeezing ours was still hard for him. He couldn't sit up just yet. The doctors still had no answers as to what had caused all this other than whatever mystery virus that had hit our son, had caused encephalitis and Justin was lucky. We also found out that Justin has an aneurysm in his brain-but it's very small and had nothing to do with what had happened to him but we will always have to have it monitored. During those six days, we also met with Child Life. Child Life brings toys, art supplies, and creative fun things for children while they are in Riley. Justin got a blanket and throughout his stay there (2.5 weeks) was given toys and bought games to play. None of these things would have been possible had there not been donations. Child Life also helps keep family areas and waiting rooms stocked with books, toys, games, and other fun items. The folks at Riley Hospital and the Ronald McDonald Houses treated us as if we were their priorities. We had nothing but total cooperation and love from them. Last year, I raised a hundred dollars and some food donations for the Ronald McDonald Houses. This year, I want to do more for two organizations that do so much for Riley, their kids, and families.

Jamberry to the Rescue!

Being a consultant for Jamberry Nails has given me and YOU the opportunity to help Riley Children's Hospital's Child Life and Ronald McDonald Houses of Riley Children's Hospital. Jamberry is a company that cares! Through them, each sheet of nail wraps and purchase of Jamberry bought, Jamberry will donate 10% to Riley Children's Hospital's Child Life and Ronald McDonald Houses of Riley Children's Hospital.

Child Life provides brand new toys, blankets, games, gaming systems, electronics, art supplies, and many more fun things to the children who are at Riley. They first ask either the child or parent what they like-what things make them happy and then they do their best to find them. They know that no kid likes being in the hospital and not all hospital experiences are fun and pain free. Many children's only breaks in the battles they are fighting, are the wonderful things that Child Life brings to them.

Riley has two Ronald Houses. One is an in-hospital one. They offer sleeping rooms for temporary use, food-which is free of charge, games, books, magazines, access to phones, televisions, and quiet places for some peace. The second is across the street, and that is where parents and families can actually have a room to stay. Those rooms are on a need basis and are limited. We were lucky to get one. Each of the areas have their own pantries, laundry facilities, and there is one game room. They also have a play ground. Both houses are overseen by volunteers; people who donate their time to stay, clean, and check people in and out. The pantries are filled by donations and the meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are hosted from local churches, groups, and even businesses. There is no way that the Ronald Houses would be able to do these things if it was not for donations. Right now the Ronald House across the street are in need of Pack n' Play cribs for those who have babies. Pack n' Play cribs are not cheap. They also have other needs.

Both these organizations; Child Life and the Riley Ronald McDonald Houses need people like YOU to help them keep on helping children and families.

Jamberry is but a small way in which you can help.

If you purchase a sheet of Jamberry Juniors nail wraps (which are hospital friendly since they are chemical free and do not require glue or polish) I will send your Jamberry Juniors with a card with your name on it and you still are making a monetary donation to these great organizations. That's a 2 for 1 right there. Not only do you brighten a little girl's day, but you also are contributing to Child Life and The Riley Hospital Ronald McDonald Houses. Simply purchase the Jamberry Jams and send them to me or you can purchase a $25 E-Gift Certificate and send me the code and I will make sure that your gift is sent with a cheerful greeting card with your name on it.

To donate just click on this link! It's the official fundraiser I am hosting for Riley Children's Hospital's Child Life and Ronald McDonald Houses of Indiana.

Thank you so much for helping! Please spread the word! This fundraiser will run all the way to July 20, 2015. The goal is to raise $400.

Justin is 10 years old and is going to be in the 5th grade this upcoming school year. He is a happy and healthy little boy who enjoys every day! He has no lasting side effects and barely remembers his time at Riley, which is good. He does Tae Kwon Do. We thank God, the doctors and nurses at Riley Hospital, our loved ones, everyone who prayed and thought of Justin on Facebook and in our hometown, Child Life, and both Ronald McDonald Houses. We couldn't have made it through without every one.
