When I went to my first Jamberry party, I thought the same thing, "Aww, how cute, nail stickers." Then I got my first sheet and I saw that they are definitely not stickers. So what are the Jamberry Nail Wraps?

 

 

 

 

 

Aside from being the best thing since sliced bread-Jamberry Nail wraps are not stickers. They are the hottest trend right now and were even featured on The Today Show April 6, 2015.

 

 

The wraps come in over 300 designs that range from mattes and solids to patterns. Here are all the things you need to get started.

 

                                The first thing you will do is wash your hands with Dawn dish soap and dry them completely.  If you don't have this kit-it's alright. Just make sure you have a file, nail scissors, and some cuticle pushers. You will also need either the Jamberry Mini Heater or your standard hair blower.

                              Second-take either an alcohol pad or acetone and go over each of your nails to make sure they are free from any oils. Then fit your nails to the according Jamberry strip and use your scissors to cut them out. I get a small tip sharpie and outline on the gray side with the clear plastic still in place and then cut around that so I have a more accurate size for my nail.

                             Third step is to peel the backing from the nail wrap and give it a few seconds of heat. I usually give it a 10 second count. Using your fingers-be careful to not touch the sticky side of the wrap or use tweezers. Tweezers are HIGHLY recommended.  Line it up on your nail and make sure it covers your nail but not your cuticle.

                            Fourth Step is simple-use your orange stick or finger and press the wrap on and rub out any puckers or air bubbles. Then shoot the heat to it. I usually count to twenty. You do not need to hold the dryer or heater right on the nail. Don't burn yourself.

Prom Night 2015

    Prom is something just about every girl dreams about when they start high school. Well, I did anyhow and so did most of my friends. We watched the upper classmen talk about where they were going to eat, who was getting a limo, and most of the upper class girls always had magazines where they pointed out the dresses they would have sold their right kidney to possess for one special night. When I was a junior in high school, I couldn't wait! Instead of a boyfriend, I took a friend. The prom theme that year was "Lady in Red". 

I ended up being the Lady in Pink. My grandma did not think unmarried girls needed to wear "red" or "black".  I think it was because all the dresses I wanted were either off the shoulder or strapless. If my grandma would have had her way I would have looked like I had just stepped out of Gone With The Wind but she settled for a tea length pink lace tulip sleeve dress. I didn't complain because it was better than the mauve monstrosity-which begs the question-why do so many grannies like dirty pink? That's what mauve looks like-pink with some dirt mixed in. Okay, I'm straying from my story here. 

In 1993, getting ones nails done was not affordable. I mean it probably was but I didn't have any nails (not like the gorgeous Jamberry ones I have now) and I sure didn't have the $65. I didn't even get those beautiful satin dyed shoes everyone else was getting but I was happy to get what I did. My mom and grandma both out did themselves and after a trip to the salon-I looked pretty good, I have to say. They even got me Lee Press Ons, which my sister Kim put on with glue. I had beaten the system-or at least that's how I felt when I looked at my little pink kitten claws. I just figured I wouldn't go to the bathroom or try to pick up anything. Simple, right? I was determined.

Now this is where the magic night kind of takes a downward spiral. My date, who was a friend, began acting funny. Maybe it was all the romantic songs being played or all the black vases with fake roses tucked in them, but for some reason-he began thinking he was Romeo and I was his Juliet. Sweet, right? Wrong. He wasn't a bad guy-he was my friend after all but it's hard to be sweet on someone that kept talking about the rate of car accidents on Prom nights and survival rates of said crashes. Kinda puts a damper on things. 

We sat at my friends' table and we were laughing and conversing while eating our chocolate covered strawberries and cheese cubes until my date-Romeo, began shrieking like a little girl who just had her Barbie ripped away. I didn't know boys past puberty could do this but apparently they can. 

"Oh My GOD! You're Hair!" 

Instantly, my first thought was, "OH MY GOD I HAVE  A SPIDER IN MY HAIR!" because why else would something about my well coiffed hair be something to be afraid of?

He reached over and grabbed something out (pulling well hair sprayed hair I might add) of my hair. I didn't want to look, but I did. I was praying I didn't see eight legs or worse. 

No, what I saw was a frosty pink Lee Press On nail  and his horrified face. 

"Are you okay? It's your nail! You're entire nail just came off! Are you okay? Let me see.." 

M-O-R-T-I-F-I-C-A-T-I-O-N

Short of using death threats and looking to see how I could have made a shank out of my plastic fork, I was prepared to kill him but no one else around our table seemed to have noticed his outbursts and my friends snapped out of their "deer in headlights" stare. I got him calmed down and just as I was going to drink some more of my cherry coke, I noticed something floating in it and something that was missing from my hand. 

That's my prom story and my senior prom was leaps and bounds better but I keep thinking back to if they had only had Jamberry Nail Wraps-I would have not had this problem. I would have looked even more spectacular with my mixed manicure and would have even had my toes decked out-not that they would have shown but who knows-Post Prom is even more fun than formal!

Abigail Schoeff  is a lead consultant for Jamberry Nails and leads a pretty busy life. She is living proof that ANYONE can have success with Jamberry. Here is her story of her journey so far. She's also my Jam Mama and I am honored and happy to be part of her team!

       My Jamberry Journey. A friend of mine had been posting pictures of Jamberry wraps for over a year. I had always ignored them because I never even painted my nails. I am a mom to 3 amazing children ages 4, 5 & 7. Waiting for nail polish to dry in between making PB & J, doing laundry and cleaning house was not an option for me. One of my kiddos has also been diagnosed with Kabuki Syndrome & Autism. We are always on the go with doctor & therapy appointments. I am also a full time college student working toward my BS in Elementary Ed & Special Ed. So, i really don't have much me time. Anyway, right before Christmas, my friend posted a sale of her wraps. I decided to purchase some to support her. Once I got them, I placed them on a shelf and let them collect dust for a month. I was really nervous that I would mess up the application. 

        In January, she started posting about opportunities with Jamberry. I thought, maybe. We really needed the money, because we are a one income family, with me in school & our daughter in therapy & doctor appointments, we were kind of strapped. So, I sent my friend a message. She told me what I needed to do & I signed up that very day, January 9, 2015! I started a Facebook party for myself and earned back the price of the kit plus some. I had a few more parties that totaled $857 in sales & I signed a consultant under me. In February, I did $1057 in sales & signed 2 consultants. In March, I did $1583 in sales & signed another consultant. I have advanced twice to Lead Consultant, which has more earning potential. Each level that a consultant advances earns more money. Plus, I make money off of my team members. 

    


     The commission is one of the best compensation plans that I have seen. Jamberry has been very rewarding for me. It has pushed me out of my comfort zone but in a good way. I enjoy getting together with friends and new people and sharing Jamberry with them. I really love the products & I have an amazing team. The World Is Big Enough For All Of Us Nailers, Wrappers, and Picassos

     I was talking to a friend today because I'm trying to drum up a customer base. She giggled at me as I did my little speech (which I thought I sounded pretty good-she said I sounded like I had something up my nose). She asked me something and it made me wonder how many other people feel like this. The question she asked was, "Girl, do you think these things will put people out of jobs? I mean like they go to cosmo school and everything." First off, Jamberry Wraps are not trying to replace artificial nails. Jamberry is less hassle, more economical, and for the ones who can't do false nails-Jamberry is there to meet their needs. To my manicurist and salon friends out there-Jamberry is a tool you too can use! You can offer your clients something more than what you are used to as well as offer the services you do now. So it's not going to put anyone out of business. I would never support a product or service that would put people out of a job. The world is big enough for us all. 

    Jamberry has wraps and lacquer (think of your best nail polish and times that times ten and you might have something almost as good as the Jamberry lacquer) and their products appeal to those of us who can't get to a salon, have small nails, and may not can tolerate false nails and the prep. Jamberry nail wraps do not cause nail infections, fungus, nor will they do any damage to your nail beds. Jamberry has cuticle oil and encourages users to take proper care of their cuticles while using their wraps. They have over 300 designs to choose from. All of us love nail art. I think those that can do them are totally cool but I never had the length or money to afford all those beautiful and neat artsy designs. Not all nail artists can do designs let alone art work on small nails.

         For me, personally, I love the fact that this isn't just some sort of gimmick to get people to spend money they don't have and have the ability to make money on such an easy product.

By now you have probably read the small little box that tells you about myself. Let me tell you a little bit more. I am a writer-that much is true and I have always loved it, but until I can make a career from it, I have been really stuck trying to make extra income. The day I got a party invite for a Jamberry party was really by accident. I had accidentally clicked on Events on my Facebook profile and it looked kind of nifty. There was some games going on and I thought they looked fun. The hostess, I knew because she had gone to the same school as I had so I figured, "Why not?".
